\n\t\t\t\tInkjet printing technology (IJP) is a highly prospective deposition technique in printed electronics attributed to its advantages such as non-contact printing, material-saving, low cost, wide applicability, easy-to-use, etc. It has been widely used to manufacture organic\/inorganic diodes, transistors, and solar cells, etc. However, using IJP to manufacture outstanding devices needs an optimization for printing materials and various factors involved in the whole preparative process, inevitably bringing in huge workload. Because of limitation on cost, manpower, time and instrumentation, researchers may miss the chances leading to new discoveries and desirable results. High-throughput (HT) screening (HTS) technology provides an economical and efficient way to achieve the goals, boosting the research process.\n

Sample preparation is the critical step in HTS and becomes more challenging when using IJP. Microdrop Technology GmbH in Germany possesses excellent IJP, enabling reproducible dispensing of droplets at microscopic scale from a wide range of materials. Importantly, it unprecedentedly integrates the IJP into the pipettes, making it possible to automatically fill, print, recycle the materials which are prepared in 96-MTP. In the workflow above, we need to print many solutions (A-Z). If using the traditional inkjet printing platforms, it needs much more manual operations to clean the heads, change the solutions, and reposition etc, which will lead to low efficiency and unnecessary material consumption and certainly not fit for HT sample preparation.
